The North Fulton area, which at AtlantaCOMMUNITIES.com we define as all of Fulton County north of I-285, includes the cities of Sandy Springs, Roswell and Alpharetta, as well as the recently incorporated cities of Milton and Johns Creek. We also include that small part of adjacent DeKalb County which is north of I-285, but not actually in the legal boundary of North Fulton. This area includes the city of Dunwoody. We call it all 'North Fulton'.
North Fulton is very accessible with I-285 running through east and west, and Georgia 400 (SR 400) running north/south right through the middle. One of the busiest intersections in metro Atlanta is I-285/SR 400 with 400,000 motorists using it daily. The Federal Highway Administration has approved the Atlanta Transportation Improvement Plan which includes $1 billion funding to improve the interchange in a four year construction project starting in 2016.
Other than Buckhead, inside the Perimeter, North Fulton home prices are generally the highest in metro Atlanta.
